A Fly Fisher’s Haven
Nature lovers, joggers, walkers and birdwatchers can all enjoy the 3 kilometre river meander running through the property. Fishing is from 2 well-stocked dams . The river is not stocked but wild trout do occur. If you are looking for self-catering accommodation with excellent trout fishing in Mpumalanga or if you are a novice wanting to learn about the sport, book fly-fishing lessons during your stay with an excellent local guide. Equipment (rods, reels and nets) are available for hire and flies can be purchased.

Fly Fishing Clinic for Guests
General Information
The fishing is only available to guests staying at Stonecutters. 'Catch and Release’ is allowed if the fish is not injured and can be released safely. Only trout fly-fishing equipment and methods are permitted. Barbless hooks, no spooning or fishing with bait permitted! Bring your catch to the office for weighing and cleaning. Trout taken for the pot will be charged per kilo.
