Wonderful weekend of technical fishing with super comfy accommodation in beautiful surroundings

We were upgraded from the studios to Stone Cottage which was a great start to the weekend, although the studio apartments also looked comfortable. Accommodation was clean & tidy & the bed was super comfortable.  I spent most of the weekend fishing on the main dam. The quality of the angling was simply sublime. The action was unrelenting - I stopped counting after the 20th rainbow, most. of them between 1.5 & 2kg's. These fish are beautifully conditioned & fight like demons & I lost a whole bunch, including a real bus, after getting stitched up in the weeds.

Exceptional

Fantastic break away for the weekend. Isolated gem of a location between Dullstroom and Lydenberg. Beautiful scenery, with lovely walk along the river. Even with loadshedding, the hosts were very accommodating with a candle kit, torches, precharged lights and gas stove/braai. Will definitely recommend to anyone for a lovely stay.

It was the perfect get away

The views were outstanding, the hospitality exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious, and the fly fishing was a memorable experience.

Great location. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. It was quiet and peaceful. A lovely spot for a quiet weekend away.

The perfect getaway!

We recently enjoyed a quick, yet fantastic getaway at Stonecutter's Lodge, the scenery is amazing, the facilities are fantastic, all the details have been thought through, especially in the rooms, with the most comfortable bed! We enjoyed all our meals in the deliciously prepared by the chef in the Stone Manor. Margi and Lesley are the loveliest hosts, making our stay very special. We will certainly recommend and will definitely return!

Great stay!

We arrived late at night at the accommodation and the staff had prepared a very tasty evening meal for us and put this in our cottage. The accommodation was very comfortable and, when we woke the next morning, the setting and the view was spectacular.

Our place of Refuge and Renewal

We love this hideaway from the world. It is less than a 2 hour drive from our frenetic lives in Gauteng. No, it is not the cheapest in the area but it is more than fair value for the wonderful experiences. The accommodation is pristine and well thought through, the food is exquisite and the surroundings just feed your soul. My husband’s special dietary needs were catered for without hesitation. The chef is highly skilled, whilst the housekeepers were a pleasure to engage with. What is extra special for us though is that although the owners are there to promptly assist us when needed, we felt as though we had the grounds to ourselves. Our visit was not our first to this beautiful country lodge and it certainly won’t be the last.  

Fantastic get away in Dullstroom

A fantastic experience with wonderful hosts. The facilities and experience was a 10/10 The rooms and views were wonderful We went on a beautiful hike, and spent the days fly fishing on the local dams The meals exceeded all expectations.

Wonderful Nature

We spent one night - I wish it was more. The food was excellent, the rooms 5 star and the nature just fabulous. The rooms are big and tastefully furnished. There was even a braai on the stoep. The views were lovely.
